The Glow Edition- April 2022

Much of our lives are dictated by the seasons: Winter and autumn lay the foundation for our wardrobes. Summer calls us to do all things outdoors, while spring brings forth a new energy to play with in fashion. So why not give your skincare routine a seasonal overhaul?
It's summer which means it's time to pack up those heavy serums and moisturisers and swap them out for lighter, more refreshing products. There are two things that you need to do when the weather starts to warm up: change up your skincare routine and protect your skin from sun damage. This is your sign to invest in products that will help your skin adapt to the warmer weather.

What changes could I make to my routine?

Is your skin itchy? Anxious for a drink? Feeling sluggish? Been there, done that. I'm going to show you some simple ways to refresh your skincare routine and supplement with some natural remedies.

  1. Swap your thick, heavy and rich winter creams for something a bit lighter. Using heavy creams can trap in dirt, especially as warmer weather means more sweating!
  2. Sandwich in hydration by using a simple mist, cream and oil routine. A mist will create damp skin which means when adding cream on top of it, you are building layers of vital hydration.
  3. Now not necessarily a change, but making sure SPF is a firm staple in your skincare routine. Using SPF will prevent premature skin ageing caused by the sun, including wrinkles, sagging and age spots.

I’ve spoken about hay fever skin before, so the spring theme aligns with that. Keeping your layers light but effective is key to fresh skin during the warmer months. Allergens can make our skin quite vulnerable so it's important to keep it as protected as you can.

Spring Ingredient Spotlight

It’s been all about our Orange Blossom Face Cream this month. The perfect lightweight cream for springtime and it comes with a refreshing zesty scent. Sweet Orange Oil. Cold pressed from the peels of sweet oranges, this particular ingredient comes with a long list of benefits for your health.

~Brighten~

Packed with Vitamin C, Sweet Orange Oil will brighten your complexion and help to fade dark spots and general dullness.

~Cleansing~

High cleansing abilities will clear congestion and keep breakouts at bay.

~Anti-inflammatory~

It also has amazing anti-inflammatory properties to calm irritated skin…perfect for hay fever!

~Stress-reducing~

Sweet Orange Oil has transforming aromatherapy benefits. It has been found to lower stress hormones and lower anxiety in trying times. It gives a real boost to your mood and is particularly effective when diluted in a humidifier.

April Catch Up

beauty balm has seen a new addition to the range this month (our Orange Blossom Face Cream) so it’s been an exciting few weeks seeing you all try and love the cream! Introducing new products to market is a huge task and takes so much time to perfect every detail so I’m over the moon to say it’s a new fan fave!
I’ve also been trying to get back to basics with our content and refreshing all the how to’s, tutorials and 101’s on beauty balm products. Being a one woman show sometimes means I forget that not everyone knows the ins and outs of the brand so it’s been very nostalgic to get back to our core values. If you ever have any questions about our products, don’t hesitate to leave them in the comments on socials or pop me a wee message!
